The Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation today approved investments totaling approximately $13 million in 14 new joint U.S.-Israeli projects, with a combined budget of nearly $35 million.
The BIRD Foundation promotes strategic partnerships between Israeli and American companies in various technological fields.
This year’s list of Israeli partners includes companies such as Sandlinks, which is developing active RFID tags for tracking assets, and Veterix, which is developing a cattle health diagnostic system.
The full list of partnerships is as follows: Tidex will work with IBM, on real-time 3D modeling on a cell broadband engine); Veterix will team up with Delaval on a cattle health diagnostic system; RaySat will work with Triquint on a compact, low cost antenna system for rear seat live entertainment; MITAM will partner with GE Security on an ID Kiosk enhanced with advanced document checking capabilities; and Sandlinks will link up with GE-GRC on active RFID tags for tracking assets.
Nanopass will work with IDRI on adjuvant+vaccine delivery using an advanced microneedle technology; Lucid will collaborate with OpenSilicon on a system chip to enhance graphic processor unit performance; AE-40 will work with Avaya on a voice portal for branch self-service; Mantis Vision will link up with Cypress Semiconductors on depth camera 3D content acquisition, and Contipi will collaborate with an unnamed US company on an intra-vaginal device for prevention of mild to severe urinary incontinence.
Omrix Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. (Nasdaq:OMRI) will work with BioSolutions Group on Anti-Idiotype Therapeutics: a treatment for autoimmune and systemic inflammatory diseases; Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR; TASE: RDWR) will pair up with Avaya on a high-scale session director for enterprises; Exotech Bio Solutions will collaborate with Gelesis on a non-invasive device for treatment of obesity , and finally C-Noga will work with TI on non-invasive physiological monitoring using real time video signals.
