14 start-ups made this year's Top 100 Tech Start-ups in Europe.
"Red Herring" today published this year's Top 100 Tech Start-ups in Europe at the magazine's conference in Malta. 14 Israeli companies made the cut, compared with 12 companies last year and 16 companies in 2006.
Since 1996, the "Red Herring" has published two lists of top 100 tech start-ups, one for the US and the other for Europe. "Red Herring" editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss said, "This year’s impressive list of winners demonstrates Europe’s emergence as a major player in the global technology sector. The exceptional accomplishments of European technology companies and entrepreneurs are a testament to the rapid advancements being made in building the European innovation ecosystem."
Web 2.0 start-up Worklight Inc. is one of this year's winners.
Previous winners of the top 100 list include Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY), and Skype, when they were still just promising start-ups.
