Nof Committee names candidates for Leumi board

The candidates must now be approved by the shareholders and the Bank of Israel.

The government appointments committee headed by Adv. Margalit Nof has submitted a list of new candidates for the board of directors of Bank Leumi (TASE:LUMI).

The committee interviewed 30 candidates who applied to sit on the bank's board of directors. The list includes: David Brodet, a former director general of the Ministry of Finance and chairman of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF); Dr. Ehud Shapira, chairman of Israel Phoenix Assurance Ltd. (TASE:PHOE1; PHOE5); Yehuda Drori who was supervisor of insurance companies in the 1980s; Yoav Nerdi, a former Deputy CEO at Bank of Jerusalem (TASE:JBNK), and Moshe Dovrat, who currently serves as a director of Bank Leumi.

The committee wrote, "It is important that the board of directors includes personalities with experience and seniority and of course personal capabilities, education and a proven track record."

The candidates must now be approved by the shareholders and the Bank of Israel.
