The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 15.8% in 2010. As for the sectoral indices, the Tel-Tech Index rose 4.9%, the Oil and Gas Exploration Index rose 53.9%, the Finance Index rose 9.3%, while the Biomed Index fell 18.4%. The Yeter 50 Small-Cap Index rose 19.7%.
The biggest rise among Tel Aviv 25 Index shares was recorded by Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) - up 77.7%. The biggest riser on the Tel Aviv 100 Index was another energy exploration stock, Ratio Oil Exploration (1992) LP (TASE:RATI.L) - up 313.8%. The biggest Tel Aviv 25 dsecliner was Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT - down 20.9%; TASE: ESLT), and the biggest Tel Aviv 100 decliner was Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL; Pink Sheets:AFIVY) - down 51.5%.
17 companies made IPOs on the TASE in 2010, compared with one in 2009, and there were 83 secondary offerings, compared with 60 in 2009. NIS 3.24 billion was raised altogether in IPOs in 2010, 11,471% more than in 2009, and NIS 5.29 billion in secondary offerings, 130% more than in 2009. The biggest offering was by Azrieli Group - NIS 2 billion.
