"Playing with gas is playing with fire. Israel's energy economy must take into account a scenario of no gas deliveries from Egypt," Knesset Economic Affairs Committee MK Carmel Shama said today during a special discussion on the effect of developments in Egypt on the Israeli energy market.
The discussion came after an explosion and fire at a gas metering station on the El Arish-Ashkelon natural gas pipeline halted deliveries of natural gas from Egypt to Israel. East Mediterranean Gas Co. (EMG). The company said that deliveries will resume in a week.
