In four words, this is the essence of Judge Goldstone’s surprising op-ed article in the Washington Post this weekend, stating that his conclusions about Israel were wrong. While I admire Goldstone’s integrity for coming forth and admitting his grave mistake, the report is only a symptom of the real malady. This whole Goldstone report episode, that gave the Israeli army such a bad name, goes to show something much deeper. It shows that what Israel is being repeatedly accused of, is actually what Israel is a victim of. It seems that the UN and then Goldstone were the ones who should be accused of shooting first, and asking the questions later.
