El Al leased the plane and its crew from Spanish airline Air Pullmantur.
The strengthening shekel and increased demand by Israelis to spend Passover overseas has prompted El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) to take the extraordinary move of leasing a Boeing 747-400 jumbo and its crew from Spanish airline Air Pullmantur. The plane will make at least four flights for El Al.
El Al will provide passengers with kosher and glatt kosher meals. The Spanish plane will make its first flight tomorrow.
El Al told "Globes", "Because of extended maintenance on one of our planes, El Al has leased a plane from Air Pullmantur, which will also provide the crew. El Al will provide the food. El Al is making every effort to ensure that holiday flights will leave on schedule and that the flight will be safe and pleasant."
