The last time Fischer summoned the banks' CEOs was at the height of the global financial crisis and market panic in late 2008.
Sources inform ''Globes'' that Governor of the Bank of Israel Prof. Stanley Fischer has summoned the CEOs of all Israel's banks for an urgent meeting tomorrow morning to discuss the mortgage market. The Bank of Israel is planning to announce new measures to restrict mortgages.
"This looks like a PTA meeting," a top banker told "Globes".
Summoning an urgent meeting is extraordinary. The last time Fischer summoned the banks' CEOs was at the height of the global financial crisis and market panic in late 2008. The previous summons was in 2006, on the issue of bank fees.
