Better Place LLC today unveiled the Renault Fluence ZE electric car that it will market in Israel. The basic price of the Renault Fluence will be NIS 122,900, not including the service package. The luxury version of the Renault Fluence, which includes leather seats and additional peripherals, will cost NIS 129,900.
The basic peripherals include a computerized driving and energy management system, a GPS navigation system, online hook-up to a call center, a four-year manufacturer's warranty, split climate control air conditioning, cruise control, a hook-up for mobile devices, rain sensor, and automatic lights.
Better Place believes that the regular maintenance cost of the Fluence will be 40% less than regular family cars. Insurance is also supposed to be less, at around NIS 3,700 a year.
The Fluence will have a graduated four-year insurance policy, whose price will be based on mileage. Better Place's service package plans includes an annual mileage plan, installation and maintenance of a home recharging station, free access to Better Place's battery replacement stations, battery availability, a computerized driver support system, navigation aids, and roadside service. The company intends to guarantee a four-year fixed monthly subscription, which will fix transportation costs during the contract period.
Better Place is offering a fixed fee of NIS 1,090 (including VAT) for up to 20,000 kilometers a year, NIS 1,300 for up to 23,000 kilometers a year, NIS 1,470 for up to 26,000 kilometers a year, and NIS 1,599 for up to 30,000 kilometers a year.
Better Place says that its comprehensive solution of electric car and services cuts annual vehicle maintenance costs by 20%. The saving results from the cost of the service package, insurance, preventative maintenance, and the four-year manufacturer's warranty.
Better Place is also offering a one-time subscription for unlimited driving for three years: a Fluence ZE and service package at no cost for three years and up to 25,000 kilometers a year of travel for NIS 157,500 (including VAT).
