"People came out onto the streets against the school of radical capitalism of the Ministry of Finance's Budget Department, but government responded with the most cynical and sophisticated flip, the full demands of the Budget Department, packaged and marketed in the form of the Trajtenberg report," said Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini today in a sharp attack on the Trajtenberg committee.
Eini cited the report's support for privatization of labor, saying, "The report's attitude toward contract labor and the privatization of work, which is largely responsible for the gaps in Israeli society, is an insult to everyone who strives for social justice. Furthermore, Trajtenberg certifies the Budget Department's central fantasy to continue the privatization of labor and export of work under the laundered language of 'outsourcing', while clearly coming out against the labor arrangements in the country and making them one of the reasons for this outsourcing."
Eini added, "Every year, the Budget Department tries to insert these privatization of labor items into the economic arrangements bill. Every year, we fight to remove these items from the law. Now the Trajtenberg committee has come along and certifies all these items for the Budget Department, while hiding behind the smokescreen of social justice."
