Electric car venture Better Place LLC is hiring service staff through an agency. The service and operations reps will operate out of the company's battery charging and replacement stations at Kiryat Gat in the south, Beit She'an, Mahanayim, Afula, and Yokne'am in the north.
The job ads state that the service representatives will be responsible for providing customer service at the battery charging stations and the stations' operations. However, a footnote in the ads state that the employment will be through a contractor.
Better Place said, "The company began operating four years ago, and has already hired more than 500 people in Israel, and is continuing to hire. As for the hiring of persons responsible for the battery changing stations, these are temporary jobs because the stations will operate after launch without the operator's intervention.
"Obviously, in view of the company's development in general and of the battery charging system network in particular, we will hire some of the people who have already been recruited and trained. When hiring contract workers through an employment agency, we promise and keep the employees' full social benefits.
"It is important to state that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the Joint Distribution Committee in Israel's joint employment enhancement program is working with us, and together we aim to hire employees from the periphery and various communities."
