The starting price for the new iPad, due to officially arrive in Israel in a few weeks, will cost NIS 2,350, official Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) importer iDigital Ltd. announced today.
The basic model, with wireless internet and a 16-gigabyte memory will cost NIS 2,350, compared with NIS 1,885 in the US. The 32- gigabyte memory will cost NIS 2,800 in Israel, compared with NIS 2,260 in the US. The 16- gigabyte model with 4G access will cost NIS 2,950, compared with NIS 1,375 in the US. The US prices are pretax.
The new iPad has a substantially better performing screen, which has been upgraded with Retina technology used in the iPhone 4 and iPhone s4. The new iPad's resolution is1536 x 2048 pixel. It has 3.1 million pixels, four times the number in the previous model, even as the screen size is unchanged at 9.7 square inches.
