IBM Israel general manager steps down

After 16 years at the head of IBM Israel, Meir Nissensohn will become chairman and be replaced by Ricky Kaplan.

IBM Israel general manager Meir Nissensohn is stepping down after 16 years in the post, the company announced today. He will serve as chairman of IBM Israel and be replaced by Ricky Kaplan, who joined IBM in 1989 and since 2000 has served as VP and assistant general counsel of the services division.

Nissensohn, 68, has hardly been exposed to communications matters throughout his career. He began in the company as a programmer and over the years filled a range of roles both in Israel and worldwide.
