The mobile carrier will use Moran's Comigo platform to challenge YES and HOT with TV services for smartphones and tablets.
Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) is set to do battle with HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) and DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd. (YES) by soon launching multi-channel TV services for NIS 89-99 per month.
The plan was revealed during a visit by Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon to Partner, which presented its main points and how it will work. Entrepreneur Dov Moran also attended the meeting to show how his start up Comigo Ltd. will provide Partner with a platform for the mobile multi-channel TV services. Comigo's systems provide servers, converters and TV interfaces for smartphones and tablets.
Partner told Kahlon that in order to offer the new package it will need to cancel the users agreement with Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) and HOT and that a large number of the broadcast channels are over the Internet.
The Partner package is likely to hurt HOT and YES, which currently offer monthly TV packages starting from NIS 200.
