Several weeks before the iPhone 5 officially reaches Israel in mid-December, Apple importer iDigital will launch the iPad Mini in Israel next week. Several days after its launch in iDigital stores, the iPad Mini will also be available from Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL).
Estimates are that the price of the iPad Mini will be NIS 1,700. The 4G 32 gigabytes version is expected to retail at a similar price to the new 3G iPad NIS 3,030.
The iPad Mini has a 7.9 inch screen compared with the regular iPad's 9.7 inch screen. The iPad Mini is 7.2 mm thick, 23% thinner than the regular iPad, and is 53% lighter. The iPad Mini will be available in either black or white and with an Apple lightning connection, which Apple claims will be completely digital, more reliable and 80% smaller than the current connection.
