Sources inform ''Globes'' that, a few months ago, Russian oligarch Valery Kogan bought two houses on adjacent lots with a combined area of 2,700 square meters on Hadar Street in Caesarea, for NIS 27 million. He bought the houses from an English family and registered them in the name of his son, Alexander Kogan.
Four years ago, Kogan bought five lots with a total area of 11,000 square meters on the same street, on which he is building a mansion with 6,000 square meters of built-up space. A source involved in the deal said, "Valery Kogan has bought an entire block in the neighborhood, and, following the latest deal, owns 15,000 square meters in Caesarea.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lives on the same street.
Kogan, who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, owns East Line Group, the operator of Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport, Russia's largest airport, handling 13-14 million passengers a year. In 2007, Russian magazine "Finance" listed him as the county's 157th wealthiest man, estimating his fortune at over $600 million.
In 2009, Kogan bought the most expensive apartment in Israel, when he bought a 900-square meter penthouse on the 22nd floor of the Sea One project on Tel Aviv's seafront promenade for NIS 110 million.
