Gov't Assessor: 4-room apartment prices up 1.6% in Q4

The average price of a four-room apartment was 5% higher than in the corresponding quarter of 2011.

The average price of a four-room apartment rose by 1.6% in nominal terms in the fourth quarter of 2012, compared with the preceding quarter, and by 5% compared with the corresponding quarter of 2011, according to the survey of 20 large cities by the Government Assessor. The number of transactions also rose.

Although the average price of a four-room apartment in Tel Aviv fell by 1% in the fourth quarter compared with the preceding quarter, it was 9% higher compared with the corresponding quarter of 2011, reaching NIS 2.5 million. The average price of a four-room apartment in Jerusalem was NIS 1.74 million in the fourth quarter, 1% more than in the preceding quarter and 3% more than in the corresponding quarter.

The average price of a four-room apartment rose in Rehovot, Rishon LeZion, and Herzliya rose by 4% in the fourth quarter, compared with the preceding quarter, but fell by 1% in, Eilat, and Ashkelon.
