Crowdsourcing investment firm OurCrowd, run by CEO Jon Medved, today announced the $350,000 closing in seed financing for Zula, founded by Jeff Pulver and CEO Jacob Ner-David. OurCrowd added that the financing pushed the total raised for early stage companies above $12 million in 18 funding rounds.
Zula has developed a mobile communications platform for teams, continuing Pulver and Ner-David's specialty in telecommunications.
Medved told "Globes", "Pulver has a high enough business profile that he could have raised the capital without us, but we apparently provided him with added value."
Pulver said, I am excited about the value that OurCrowd brings to early stage investors who invest in start-up companies. Not only did we raise our seed round online in less than a week, but we had people from all over the world invest in Zula thanks to this platform."
Medved and a group of investors founded OurCrowd a year ago as an online venture which gives investors in Israel and around the world exposure to start-ups. The companies which are put on the site obtained financing from Medved and some of OurCrowd's investors. OurCrowd plans to unveil 50 companies this year. The minimum investment for joining is $10,000.
