The State Comptroller finds a long line of shortcomings in Israel Postal Company's conduct - problems that almost all Israelis have personally experienced in their contacts with the Postal Company in the past few years. The comptroller had focused only on international shipping, but this seems to had been enough to highlight the company's overall flaws. The comptroller said, "Many complaints received by the State Comptroller Public Complaints Commission, the Israel Postal Company Public Complaints Commission and various Knesset committees indicate that the Postal Company is yet to complete preparations to optimally handle the developing field of international mail services. It should be noted that the company is in the midst of a process of improving some of its services and operational arrays, including those dealing with international mail." In the past year, and since the current CEO assumed office, the field of online trade has been defined as a strategic objective. The company opened 300 package delivery centers, in addition to the existing 700 centers; the offices' opening hours have been extended; the customer service call center has been been beefed-up; a paid service for package handover at the client's house has been launched; we have launched a queueing application; and, we send SMS notifications regarding package collection in post offices."
