Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) announced today that the company has signed three contracts for the supply of 100 RAM armored vehicles from three military customers in Africa.
Foreign media sources have indicated that one of the customers is Senegal. Estimates are that the contract for IAI's RAMTA Division in beersheva is worth several tems of millions of dollars. IAI declined to disclose details about the deal out of "respect for the customer's wishes."
RAMTA's Beersheva plant, where naval patrol boats are also manufactured, has 350 employees.
Senegal had initially ordered 50 RAM armored cars and not long ago ordered a further 50.
IAI said, "The vehicles are for military use, and in particular peacekeeping missions," and that delivery will be made by the end of this year.
