Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades met yesterday to discuss a wide range of topics, reflecting the close and highly important relations between the states. These issues included counterterrorism and cooperation during emergencies. In addition, the leaders reached an agreement regarding cooperation in gas field development. Israel and Cyprus have been in talks for a long time on economic cooperation regarding natural gas fields. The parties have discussed the arrangements for Aphrodite and Yishai gas field development and decided that the ministers of energy of both states will act to complete discussions by September 2016.
