The Cross Israel Highway now stretches from Ein Tut in the north to Lakiya in the south.
A new six kilometer section of Road 6, the Cross Israel Highway, opens Thursday night between the Lahavim Interchange and the Lakiya Interchange in the Negev's Lahav forest region. Only in the past few weeks was the Road 6 section between the Devira Interchange via the Rahat Interchange to the Lahavim Interchange opened, and in the coming months work will be completed on extending Road 6 to the Shoket Interchange on Road 60 south of Beersheva.
With the opening of the latest section, Road 6 will extend from Ein Tut in the north via 17 interchanges to Lakiya 155 kilometers to the south - a journey of about 90 minutes. Road 6 is a toll road in the north and center of the country but is free from the Sorek Interchange southwards including the recently opened sections.
