Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) unit 012 Mobile (the discount brand of Partner subsidiary 012 Smile) has stopped offering its aggressive NIS 39 monthly plan after just two days. On Sunday, the company launched the offer consisting of unlimited calls and SMS, 3 giga broadband and 500 overseas call minutes, for NIS 39 monthly. The offer has now been halted after over 10,000 subscribers have joined.
When it was launched, 012 said the offer was valid until January 16 or when 10,000 subscribers had signed up, which ever happened first.
In fact more than 10,000 subscribers had signed up within the first 24 hours but 012 decided to continue with the offer for another day, with thousands more subscribers joining. Many signed up for the 5 giga NIS 49 monthly package.
While the plan is officially described as "for life" it is actually limited to only 25 years, and 012 also has the right to raise the price in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
