Amimon Inc., a developer of wireless uncompressed high-definition video, has been named Israel's most promising start-up at the "Globes" - Ernst & Young 2009 Journey Conference.
Amimon chief scientist Prof. Meir Feder, CTO Dr. Zvi Reznic, and VP marketing and business development Noam Geri founded the company in 2004. The company has raised $50 million from Israeli funds Cedar Fund, Evergreen Venture Partners, and Walden Israel, as well as Argonaut Private Equity, Motorola Ventures, and STATA Venture Partners. The company has 70 employees.
Search engine mining developer Kenshoo Ltd. won second place, text advertising solutions developer Kontera Ltd. won third place, marketing delivery platform developer Pontis Ltd. won fourth place, and touch-screen handset developer modu Inc. won fifth place.
The sixth to tenth winners are as follows: Brainsgate Ltd., which has developed a brain electrical stimulation device for the treatment of strokes; widget developer Gigya Ltd.; smart street lighting solutions developer Metrolight Ltd.; mobile messaging, advertising and TV solutions developer Mobixell Networks Ltd.; and telecom revenue assurance and dealer management solutions developer Cvidya Networks Inc.
This is the fifth year that "Globes" has held the top-ten start ups competition. The winners are chosen from among dozens of candidates.
