Eliahu mulls former MK Raanan Cohen for Leumi director

Yesterday, the government appointments committee for Bank Leumi, chaired by Margalit Nof, submitted its list of candidates to the bank's board of directors.

Sources inform "Globes" that Shlomo Eliahu will nominate Raanan Cohen as a director of Bank Leumi (TASE:LUMI) instead of David Klein. Cohen a former Labor Party MK and minister, currently serves as chairman of Industrial Development Bank of Israel Ltd (TASE:IND)and is considered a close associate of Eliahu.

Yesterday, the government appointments committee for Bank Leumi, chaired by Margalit Nof, submitted its list of candidates to the bank's board of directors. The candidates are David Brodet, a former director general of the Ministry of Finance and chairman of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF); Dr. Ehud Shapira, chairman of Israel Phoenix Assurance Ltd. (TASE:PHOE1; PHOE5); Yehuda Drori who was supervisor of insurance in the 1980s; Yoav Nerdi, former deputy CEO at Bank of Jerusalem (TASE:JBNK); and Moshe Dovrat, who currently serves as a director of Bank Leumi.
