Orange franchisee Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) today launched its "Clear Unlimited" plan, offering unlimited calls and SMS messages, and 500 megabits of internet access for NIS 125 per month. The plan suits the internet usage pattern of the average user.
For an additional NIS 10 per month, the internet access can be increased to 2 gigabits. The plan also offers GPS and Funtone services.
Partner has already been offering the plan as a pilot for ten days.
The veteran carriers are responding with their own offers," says Liat Nahum, content manager at price comparison site Kama Zeh. "Their plans are still more expensive than the plans of the new carriers, but prices are coming down to stop subscribers from switching to the new carriers."
Earlier this week, Partner expanded its Orange Clear plans, which cost NIS 100-350 per month, depending on the package of calls, SMSs and internet access chosen. Rivals Pelephone Communications Ltd. is offering similar plans for NIS 119 per month, and Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) are offering plans at NIS 149 per month. Both Cellcom and Pelephone are expected to announce new and upgraded plans soon.
Partner's share price fell another 5.1% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 22.39, after falling 9.4% on Nasdaq yesterday to $5.86, giving a market cap of $912 million.
